Living in Washington DC, Reid Walker serves as the director of communications for U. S. Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington State. From his office in Washington DC, Walker serves as a spokesman for the senator on matters ranging from healthcare to energy, and drafts speeches and op-ed pieces. Prior to joining Senator Cantwell’s office, Walker worked for the U.S. Senate Indian Affairs Committee, also in Washington DC.

Reid previously was a principal at Incite in Seattle, Washington, developing branding for start-up companies. He moved there from T-Mobile, where he led a team of 42 employees leading media relations, internal communications, philanthropic and social media efforts. Prior to that, he managed global communications and sports marketing for Lenovo in North Carolina and China.

Moving to Lenovo from Honeywell in New Jersey, Reid oversaw global in-house and marketing for a division of the company. Before then, he handled media relations and speech-writing for General Electric's e-commerce division, as well as managed media relations for PSINet and NASDAQ.

Reid has won several industry honors, including a Silver Anvil and Clio advertising award, a Quest for Excellence and an Icon Award at Honeywell, and a President’s Award at General Electric. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Earning a BA at St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, Reid postponed finalizing his MBA at Fairliegh Dickinson University in New Jersey, due to work.

When he is not serving the public, Reid enjoys mountain climbing, having topped the summits of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Shasta, Mt. Whitney along the Pacific coast, and Cotopaxi in Ecuador.
