The member of the Israel and Overseas board of the Jewish Federations of North America, Renee Evans is heavily involved in Jewish philanthropy. A resident of Atlanta, Georgia, she is active with her local anti-Semitism task force and serves as a community and political advocate. In this capacity, she has spoken in public settings regarding anti-Semitism that those in her community have faced. This included sharing the story of an Atlanta mother protecting her special needs children from harassment and threats in school during a discussion about cyberbullying. Renee Evans has also spoken positively about Congress’ passage of an anti-BDS (Boycott Divestment and Sanctions) resolution.
Mrs. Evans’ involvement in the Jewish community also extends beyond her local community. Alongside her husband, she served as host chair for MedShare’s Kaleidoscope gala in 2018. MedShare has provided medical supplies and equipment to over 20 million people around the world and has supported Mrs. Evans’ work with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). She also serves on the overseas board and health care committee for the JFNA, is a board member of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, and serves on the national board of the Hadassah Foundation, an organization that makes grants that help women and girls in the US and Israel create social change.
