After studying mechanical engineering at Seattle University and earning his bachelor of science in cell and molecular biology at the University of Washington, Dr. Rizwan D. “Riz” Nurani attended the University of Washington School of Medicine to obtain his medical degree. He subsequently interned at the Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, before returning to University of Washington Medicine to complete a residency in radiation oncology. Dr. Rizwan D. Nurani parted ways with the University of Washington in 2007 as the chief radiation oncology resident.
Dr. Riz Nurani went on to treat patients at medical facilities in several different U.S. states. For the past five years, he has practiced at Western Radiation Oncology in Mountain View, California.
In addition to treating patients directly, Dr. Rizwan Nurani is an accomplished medical writer who has authored a number of articles for peer-reviewed publications, such as the International Journal of Radiation Oncology and the Journal of Urology. He also worked with two colleagues to write the genitourinary chapter of the textbook The Role of MRI in Radiation Therapy Planning.
