Denver School of the Arts

Committed to coaching emerging talent as a vocal music teacher, Robert Styron served as the director of vocal music at the Denver School of Arts from 2004 to 2018. Robert Styron directed vocal music programs for grades six through twelve. This required developing and executing music curriculum as well as administrative duties, including managing staff and budget and payroll. Additionally, he engaged with the community through outreach programs and concerts organized by the Denver School of Arts.

Throughout his career, Robert Styron has received multiple awards and honors, including the Most Outstanding Musical distinction from Colorado State in 2018, the Stepping Up Student Achievement appreciation award from the Colorado Association of School Boards, and the Distinguished Teacher Recognition recognition from Denver Public Schools.

Mr. Styron holds a master of public administration from the University of New Orleans and a master of arts in music education from the University of Colorado. In addition to his professional activities, he is an avid sailor and spends the majority of his time sailing as a crew member on Footloose Too, a J-35 sailboat with homeport in Lake Pontchartrain, Lousiana.
