Robert Genovese

Founder

BG Capital Group Limited and BG Capital Management Corporation

Bobby Genovese is a Canadian-born entrepreneur and businessman who founded his first company at age 25 before founding BG Capital Group Limited and BG Capital Management Corporation, both based in The Bahamas, with associate management offices in Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver.

Genovese's natural ability to identify and connect enthusiastic people with winning opportunities grew into a portfolio of businesses focused on mergers/acquisitions of small to medium size business ventures across a spectrum of industries.

Outside of the boardroom, Genovese brought his winning touch to the polo field when he built Vancouver International Polo. In the years that followed, VIP grew to become one of North America’s top ranked medium-goal teams, going on to win the Canadian Open along with numerous American, Argentinean and Chilean tournaments.

During that time Genovese’s fascinating life caught the eye of television producers who created the reality TV show, “Bobby G: Adventure Capitalist.” The show featured Genovese as its central character and aired with great acclaim for several seasons on MOJOTV.

Within the BG Capital Group portfolio of businesses, Genovese created BG Signature, a luxury collection of retreat properties throughout North America. Its remaining flagship entity is the 100-acre BG Ocala Ranch located in Ocala, Florida, which combines Genovese’s love of horses and nature with his passion for land preservation and protection of natural resources.

Genovese also partnered with the Department of Environmental Protection to become official concessionaire of several Florida state parks with the mission of protecting ecotourism land and waterscapes while ensuring accessibility to visitors.

Philanthropy is also a central part of Genovese’s life and something that he continues to invest both his time and resource into furthering. “Giving is both a responsibility and a great privilege,” he says.
Among his many charitable interests is Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, Canada’s largest and most sophisticated centre for pediatric cancer research, treatment and care. His chairmanship of the annual Car and Boat Rally Scavenger Cups, which began in 2007, has helped raise more than $16 million for the hospital.

Genovese is also a longtime supporter of the Vancouver-based Face the World Foundation, which, in its 30-year history, has raised more than $19 million to assist over 400 organizations devoted to everything from securing access to shelters and hot meals to contributing to anti-bullying campaigns and supporting music and sports programs for people in need.
Outside of his business, environmental and philanthropic endeavors, Genovese enjoys traveling the world with his family.
