Independent Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Robert M. Ryerson began his career in the financial industry with Shearson Lehman American Express in New York City nearly 35 years ago. After six years of training and working as a stockbroker, he expanded his professional offerings by achieving his CFP certification. Over the course of his career he has consistently demonstrated a desire to enhance his knowledge and rank among the nation’s elite financial advisors, receiving additional designation as a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist (CITRMS) and teaching numerous Certified Public Accountant (CPA) continuing-education courses. Robert M. Ryerson is also a published author, with past titles including What You Don’t Know About Retirement Will Hurt You and What’s the Deal With Identity Theft: A Plain English Look at Our Fastest Growing Crime.

Mr. Ryerson studied economics at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, graduating with a bachelor of arts. His next book will deal with required minimum distributions and related retirement topics.
