Rose Padilla Johnson is a distinguished executive in the community service sector who serves as the CEO of Davis Street Community Center (DSCC) in San Leandro, California. Since joining DSCC in 1991, Ms. Johnson has helped the nonprofit organization expand its services and budget extensively through various community partnerships. In addition to providing child care services to over 1,200 children each month, DSCC also coordinates food, clothing, and health care services to individuals in need. Additionally, it operates an annual holiday basket program for families in partnership with the Alameda County Fire Department.
Supplementing her professional pursuits, Ms. Johnson was president of the California Alternative Payment Program Association (CAPPA) and member of the California Child Development Administrators Association. She's also a co-administrator of the RotaCare free clinic, a nonprofit offering quality health care for those without insurance. A former president of her local Rotary Club, Ms. Johnson is the recipient of a Service Above Self Award from Rotary International for her involvement with the Faces of Hope program in Guatemala, among others. At the local level, she was named a Hometown Hero by Oakland Magazine and a Woman of Distinction by the San Francisco Business Times.
