Sheldon Harding A.R. DVIDA
Founder & Director, Head Instructor of Salsamology Dance Academy
Sheldon Harding is a Dance Vision International Dance Association (DVIDA) graduate with an Associate Degree in Rhythm Dances, Specialization in Ballroom and Latin Dance (Honors). With over 20 years' experience as a dancer, choreographer and educator, Sheldon is the founder of Salsamology Dance Academy, which is a very well-known and established Ballroom and Latin Dance school. Additionally, he has competed performed and taught in many Ballroom and Latin Dance events in Trinidad, in 2013 he founded Salsamology Dance Academy.
He was first introduced to Salsa On1 in 2001 under the tutorship of Mr. Walter Diaz, a Venezuelan national. However, his first “taste” of Salsa On2 is attributed to visiting Puerto Rico for the Salsa Congress in 2003 and taking classes from the renowned Eddie Torres and Nelson Flores. Since that time there has been no turning back for this passionate lover of this dance genre. He was determined to practice and perfect this style of dance even though in his country, Trinidad, the norm was and is still for most, to dance Salsa On1. His quest to master Salsa On2 motivated him to make frequent visits to New York where he continued taking classes from Eddie Torres, Nelson Flores, Frankie Martinez and Alfred Pena, making him a very knowledgeable and experienced person to teach Salsa On2 in his country.
Salsamology Dance Academy espouses the belief that dance can powerfully and positively change and impact the precious lives of our young people. Dance is one of the only sport that involves the interaction of both sexes.
He combines his love for Latin and Ballroom Dances and his experience in technology as he seeks to become one of the greatest innovators in teaching Salsa as his first love along with all other dances.
