Dr. Sanda Morar serves in the medical oncology division of the Morrison Cancer Center (MCC) in Hastings, Nebraska, one of the leading facilities of its kind in the Midwest. At MCC, Dr. Sanda Morar focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the breast, colon, blood, and lung, as well as cancers of the female reproductive system.
Dr. Sanda Morar has devoted the greater part of her career to oncology. Prior to her current role, Dr. Morar served as the medical director of the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute at Cambridge Medical Center, where she led her team in coordinating patient care in line with National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. As part of her work within the Cambridge system, Dr. Morar also helped ensure that patients in smaller communities could have access to advanced immunotherapy regimens and facilitated close-to-home medical care for numerous patients. She built up a program that upheld a high level of medical standards generally, and that won a silver commendation from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.
Before joining Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, she was the director of oncology for the Minnesota Oncology satellite in Cambridge, Minnesota, for almost four years. In that role, she liaised with the oncology program at Cambridge Medical Center and led a team that applied a multidisciplinary approach to oncology and hematology, in addition to overseeing a series of clinical trials.
Dr. Sanda Morar is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Founded in 1964, the organization sets international standards in its field.
