He subsequently found a passion for singing as a baritone in choirs and musicals, gaining a reputation as one of the top high school baritones in Virginia. Initially majoring in vocal performance at Baylor University, he was active on campus with the A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers. He ultimately earned his bachelor’s degree in political science.

Attending the University of Virginia Law School, Mr. Flanders began his legal career with a major Philadelphia firm focused on insurance coverage litigation. He soon moved to his current Northern Virginia location and has been active with his family at Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church for many years.
