As a Senior Civil Engineering Technician/Inspector for the City of Rochester, Minnesota, Scott Schwieder conducted construction inspections for a wide variety of projects, including roads, bike paths, sidewalks, and underground municipal utilities. His inspections ensured that construction and engineering standards were being maintained and that work was being completed according to specifications and designs. At the time of his recent retirement, Scott Schwieder had worked for the City of Rochester for more than 32 years.
For the bulk of his time with the city, Mr. Schwieder was a Senior Civil Engineering Technician Survey Party Chief, a position in which he performed detailed surveys for topographic mapping and staking for roads, bridges, and other municipal projects.
After his graduation from Minnesota State College-Southeast, Mr. Schwieder began his first role with the City of Rochester. As an Associate Engineering Technician, he participated on a crew that conducted construction surveys. Mr. Schwieder also worked as a Survey Technician for McGhie & Betts, a private engineering firm in Rochester.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Scott Schwieder enjoys a number of outdoor hobbies, including fishing, hiking, rock hunting, and bicycling.
