A board-certified radiologist in Los Gatos, California, Dr. Sepideh Moayed has been interpreting advanced imaging studies such as x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, doppler studies and nuclear medicine studies for the past two decades. Additionally, Dr. Sepideh Moayed uses interventional procedures including joint injections for patients with osteoarthritis. She believes pain can be quite subjective and often exacerbated by underlying emotional and psychological issues. She states that research shows chronic pain costs the American people billions of dollars annually. Some medical schools are now prioritizing pain management and teaching medical students tools and techniques rather than writing habit forming prescriptions. She utilizes psychosocial evaluation, behavioral therapy, mood regulation and only when necessary, medication-assisted therapies.
As part of her mission to provide safe, stigma-free care for patients with chronic pain or use disorder, Dr. Moayed founded Preventive Medicine. Relying on holistic practices such as mindfulness and lifestyle modification along with modern technologies such as genetic testing, she empowers patients to take control of their own health.
Dr. Moayed holds a medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed an internship in internal medicine at the Presbyterian Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by radiology residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. She completed her musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Moayed is a member of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
