Simon N. Hodnett is the head men's and women's track and field coach at the Long Island University Brooklyn Campus in New York. Simon N. Hodnett has coached track and field at the institution since 1999, and coaching within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) system he has repeatedly led his athletes to individual and team titles. These include 178 Northeast Conference relay and individual titles and 38 Northeast Conference MVP, MVP of Running Events, and Rookie of the Year awards. Additionally, under his leadership, eight student-athletes achieved distinction as NCAA Track and Field All-Americans.
Simon N. Hodnett has himself also received awards. In part, these include being named AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year and earning three Division I Northeast Regional Coach of the Year awards.
While serving as a head coach, Mr. Hodnett has held other positions at Long Island University. From 2004 to 2007, he volunteered as a volleyball coach for the women's team, and his responsibilities comprised coordinating travel and accommodations for away meets and assisting with planning and implementing training and conditioning programs. From 2006 to 2010, he taught classes as a professor with a focus on an athletic curriculum. He holds a bachelor's degree in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management and a master's degree in health science and coaching and conditioning.
