The recipient of bachelor's degrees in child and adolescent development and psychology from San Francisco State University and the University of San Francisco, respectively, Sonnet Jane Harrison worked as a DJ in college and played a variety of venues, including The Depot and the Sound Factory. Upon graduating, she began working as a residential counselor at Standing Against Global Exploitation, where she worked with children ages 12 to 18 who were survivors of sex trafficking. Sonnet Jane Harrison has since managed an early literacy childcare consultancy and now serves as the sole proprietor of Creative Introspection, through which she creates content related to self-care and mindfulness.
In addition to her work-related pursuits, Sonnet Jane Harrison is a dedicated community volunteer who offers counseling services to adults through the Marina Counseling Center and to students through the Ed Fund of San Francisco. In the past, she has volunteered with Health Choices Mentoring for Success, San Francisco SPCA, and Talkline (now known as Safe and Sound).
Ms. Harrison obtained a meditation teacher training certificate from Anchor Meditation in 2019 and is pursuing a master's degree in counseling psychology at the University of San Francisco. She expects to graduate in 2020. Her hobbies include traveling, running, playing crystal singing bowls, and meditating.
