A graduate of the Charleston School of Law in South Carolina, attorney Stephen Krzyston also earned a BS in political science from the College of Charleston. In addition, he took part in the National Criminal Defense College's Trial Practice Institute, a program that focuses on the details of trying criminal cases, and he attended National Forensic College, which prepares attorneys to litigate complex forensic science cases. Stephen Krzyston is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Richland County Bar Association.
Recently, Stephen Krzyston joined Cavanaugh & Thickens, LLC as a trial attorney. Prior to that, Mr. Krzyston served as an assistant public defender in Richland County, South Carolina, where he represented defendants charged with serious felonies, such as manslaughter, murder, armed robbery, and arson. Certified to handle cases that qualify for the death penalty, he also trained other attorneys on forensic issues that affect criminal litigation.
Before accepting his current position, Stephen Krzyston served as a law clerk with a plaintiff's firm in Virginia, and with the Capital Trial Division of the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense.
