Stephen Robert is the former chairman and CEO of the Oppenheimer Group Inc, and the founder, along with his wife, of Source of Hope Foundation, based in New York City. Stephen Robert created the foundation with the goal of assisting populations in need of necessities such as food, health care, fresh water, and education.
Source of Hope Foundation has extended care to areas of Africa and Haiti, as well as around New York City. Mr. Robert’s projects include contributions to a rapid medical evaluation center at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, which is located a low-income neighborhood in New York. Enabling the addition of extra treatment space, new equipment, and additional medical staff, the center reduced patient wait times from nearly 10 hours to an hour or less.
In addition to his work with the foundation, Stephen Robert is involved with the Watson Institute of International Studies, the foreign policy program of the Brooking Institute, and the United States Middle East Project.
