Susan Damante was born in San Francisco and has lived in Los Angeles and New York City.
Her autobiographical solo show “LIFE… DEATH… and ENTERTAINMENT,” got rave reviews at the New York International Fringe Festival. The show also won First Place in the ONE Festival at Teatro LATEA NYC and was featured at Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival. It had its World Premiere run at Santa Monica Playhouse, directed by Sue Hamilton. The current version has original music and lyrics by Ron Mesa and additional music and lyrics by Alphonzo Terrell.
She studied under William Ball at The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, with Atlantic Theater Acting Studios in New York and LA, and with Milton Katselas and Jeffrey Tambor in Los Angeles.
Feature film credits include: THE CANDIDATE with Robert Redford, THE STUDENT TEACHERS directed by Jonathan Kaplan (THE ACCUSED), THE WILDERNESS FAMILY (and its two sequels), and recently as Cam Fish in UNENDING HELL. She also has performed in numerous TV series and guest starring roles.
On stage her favorite appearances have been the role of Katherine in Terri Sissman’s THROWING RUBIES directed by Sue Hamilton at the Stella Adler and on the New York stage as Bev McHale in HER SONOMA STORY at the Neighborhood Playhouse. At Theatre 40, the role of Madame Preferee' in THE GAMESTER, directed by Jules Aaron and the role of Mary in Samuel Warren Joseph's MORAL IMPERATIVE, directed by Howard Storm. And most recently the lead in DEATH WITH BENEFITS directed by Jeff Rack.

A forty+ year practicing Nichiren Buddhist with the SGI, Susan dedicates each performance to her life mentor Daisaku Ikeda and to her mother Marjorie, who taught her true resilience.
