The sanctioning body for a sport that has emerged rather fully on the national level, United States Obstacle Course Racing’s (USOCR’s) mandate encompasses ensuring the quality and safety of all sanctioned events. Consequently, USOCR leverages its considerable experience in all aspects of the sport to add value via, among other things, its insurance and risk management capacities, which help event organizers navigate a complex landscape.

USOCR engages with insurance carriers in demonstrating that race directors have built safe, reliable courses with a premium placed on injury prevention. Overseeing the details of producing a fun, challenging, and safe course, USOCR works from the ground up using CAD design software and modeling.

The USOCR’s risk management emphasis goes hand in hand with dedicated marketing and logistics support. Sponsors are brought into close partnership with venues that can expose their products and services to an audience that is expanding and demographically rich. At the same time, promotion materials, from t-shirts to branded signage, are printed and shipped at reasonable rates through USOCR to event organizers.
