Victoria Deeks serves as a nurse practitioner (NP) at Peak Medical Clinic Klamath Falls in Roseburg, Oregon. Prior to becoming an NP, Victoria Deeks was a nurse for 10 years at a Level I trauma care center at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and was employed by Kaiser Permanente for 18 years.
Ms. Deeks is a proponent of functional medicine, which emphasizes the healthy workings of the body’s systems, as opposed to allopathic medicine, which treats symptoms with medications. Working in the field of internal medicine, she checks patients’ blood chemistry and assists them with hormone replacement therapy.
Her accomplishments range from developing a teaching and tracking program for persons with diabetes to collaborating on an educational protocol in a weight-management setting. Ms. Deeks also set up a job-sharing plan for NPs to ensure acute care coverage.
Recently Victoria Deeks updated her skills with a postgraduate certificate in geriatrics from OHSU. Her formal education began at Columbia Basin Community College in Pasco, Washington, with an associate’s degree in nursing. She transferred to OHSU, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing with highest honors, followed by an MS in nursing from the University of Oregon in Portland.
Ms. Deeks has several outside interests, such as skiing, horseback riding, hiking, and other aspects of rural living. A single mother, she takes great pride in raising four successful sons.
