A graduate of Brown College in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, Walonza Hall balances a busy career as a certified beauty professional with a commitment to empowering and inspiring others. A survivor of Stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer, she is often invited to speak to others about her experience not only as a cancer survivor, but as a female entrepreneur who found success after growing up in the inner city. Walonza Hall has also received honors from groups, such as Chicago 300 Black Women for her inspirational story.
Walonza Hall also gives back to the community through her work with the Chicago chapter of Women by Choice, an organization that serves to motivate women by sharing encouragement, advice, and prayer. Additionally, she sits on the board of the annual Teal for Toy cancer awareness event.
Professionally, Walonza Hall leads Chicago-based M and M Beauty Services, which she has owned since 2016. She also stands out as an owner and investor in hospitality companies, such as the waitress service Cocktail Cutie Crew and a restaurant on the south side of Chicago scheduled to open in 2019. Ms. Hall has entered into these roles after more than a decade serving as a case manager with the Illinois Department of Corrections.
