Previously an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Wayne Macfadden MD, leverages over 25 years of experience in psychiatry and clinical research and development to guide his role as Psychiatrist at Spirit Lake Indian Nation Health Center. Wayne Macfadden MD, along with his wife, founded International Psychiatric Services, which provides psychiatric clinical services, including evaluation and treatment of substance use disorder and consultations to Pharmaceutical companies.

Before focusing on his practice, Dr. Wayne Macfadden worked in an executive capacity at several large international pharmaceutical companies. From 2011 to 2015, he took on the role as a Senior Medical Director at Roche, conducting clinical research and development for new psychiatric drugs before he became a Global Medical Affairs Director at Novartis’ Ophthalmology division in Switzerland. During this time, he published and presented studies on myopic choroidal neovascularization and age-related macular degeneration during two separate ESASO Retina Academy Conferences held in Spain and Portugal in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Dr. Macfadden earned his credentials from the National Board of Medical Examiners and National Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He also has Additional Qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry, and training in office-based treatment of opioid use disorders.
