I established Ecosustain in 2008 with the aim to develop a best farming practice: effective, efficient and contributing to global well-being.
I've been a fringe participant in Permaculture since its inception in the 1970s and during 2014 finally undertook a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) course with Geoff Lawton via the Permaculture Research Institute (PRI) which he established with the co-founder of the Permaculture Movement - Bill Mollison.
The PDC has provided grounding in design and implementation of sustainable and productive systems for living, architecture, food production, land management and community.
Permaculture takes agriculture beyond sustainable, teaching ways to farm using regenerative practices to bring the eco-system back to life.
An efficiently operating eco-system has the capacity to correct the mistakes we as farmers have made especially since the mechanical revolution and introduction of chemicals to our soil and livestock.
ECOsustain’s Blueprint Program includes the establishment of a Not For Profit to bring others onboard to become the band that will establish a PRI accredited Demonstration and Education Centre designed to offer a variety of real-life experiences in land-based sustainable living and agriculture, environmental practices and local history here at Wyalong Farm in North Central Victoria.
