I’m not the one that’s in the ground. After losing a great friend from high school, I realized that my life wasn’t where I wanted it to be when I grew up. It was up to me to make a change. To make an impact, and to make my life what I wanted it to be.
Sure, I had a wife, a mortgage and kids. I’d graduated with a degree and was exactly where society said I “should” have been in my life. But I wasn’t fulfilled. I wasn’t happy with my choices. At the funeral, a friend of mine mentioned quietly that our friend that had passed away was the lucky one.
He no longer had to deal with his ex-wife that kept his kids from him, or deal with the same job he had directly out of high school.
This statement shook me to my core. I decided at that point forward that I was going to be the best person that I could be. My relationship with my wife was going to change, and the “me” my kids remembered was going to be a me full of laughter and love.
At the moment I changed my life. I decided to become the person I’d always hoped I would be. It was time to take control and make my life one I was proud of. My journey stared because a friend’s journey ended, but his life inspired me to make the most out of mine.
I can’t wait to share my story. Visit http://whytheluckystiff.net for more information.
