The recipient of a bachelor's degree in economics from Vanderbilt University, William D. Jones of OK subsequently earned a doctor of medicine (MD) from Brown University and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Oklahoma. After completing an internship at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City and a residency at the University of Oklahoma's Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, William D. Jones, MD established a private practice in Oklahoma City, OK, where he continues to see patients to this day.
In addition to running his own office, Dr. Jones has held a variety of part-time postings throughout his career. He worked four years as a part-time occupational medicine physician with Oklahoma City's General Motors Assembly Plant and one year in the same capacity with St. Anthony Hospital. He also served two years as medical director of Norman Regional Hospital's Department of Occupational Medicine.
Supplementing his experience in medicine, he holds membership with the Oklahoma County Medical Society and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, among other professional organizations. An avid baseball fan and softball player, Dr. Jones also sponsors area softball teams and regularly supports the Angel Foundation at SWAT, which provides instruction and equipment to players from underserved neighborhoods.
