As a high school student at Portland’s Edison High School, William Rehm IV earned multiple student of the month honors, served a summer on the support team at the gardening store Farmington Gardens, volunteered at the Beaverton City Library, and stocked shelves at Cosmic Comics. During the summer between high school and college, he worked at Al's Garden Center in the Portland suburb of Beaverton. Since enrolling at Portland Community College in the fall of 2018, William Rehm IV has remained engaged with both the Beaverton City Library and Cosmic Comics.
Comic book collecting has long been one of Mr. Rehm’s driving passions. His collection includes highly valuable and sought-after issues such as 1967’s Amazing Spider-Man #50 and 1971’s Green Lantern #85. He is also interested in avant-garde literature, and counts a visit to Paris’ "Beat Hotel," where multiple experimental writers stayed in the mid-1900s, as one of his most cherished memories. William Rehm IV is a dedicated author in his own right, producing works inspired by his Beat Generation heroes.
