A resident of Southborough, Massachusetts, William Shields draws upon more than 20 years of industry experience in his role as an assistant vice president within the Real Estate Group of John Hancock, an affiliate of Manulife Financial. In the time William Shields of Southborough has been with the company, he has earned three Manulife Stars of Excellence Awards (2006, 2015, 2017) and completed the Manulife Advanced Leadership Program. He also coordinated the development of the company's National Account Program and facilitated the origination of a $440 million commercial mortgage loan, which is the largest in Manulife's history.

Prior to joining Manulife, Mr. Shields served three years as an acquisitions analyst with Davis Marcus Partners, where he evaluated more than $1.5 billion in potential acquisitions and completed the financial work to secure more than $310 million in financing for six commercial real estate projects.

Mr. Shields has prior mortgage loan experience with Metropolitan Life Insurance and Criimi Mae Management, among other companies. He holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor's degree from Providence College in Rhode Island.
