An author and filmmaker, Yvette Araujo stands out as the creative mind behind the Fallen book series and the related miniseries Modos: The Prophecy of Armageddon. Both tell the story of a group of archangels who are unexpectedly thrust from an earthly existence into the realm of the supernatural, where they must reclaim their divine identities and fight against the ambition of their fallen brother. Yvette Araujo first conceptualized this cast of characters on film and has since expanded their world through the novels The Loathing, Androgyny, and Origin, the first three books of the 12-part series Fallen.
Yvette Araujo also produced the talk show Sister Blvd., a Detroit-based women's interest program that featured lively and informed discussions on issues relevant to women of all ages. She produced the show in the early 2000s and guided it through its first airings on the PAX Network, after which time Hallmark purchased the rights to the show. After several years of focusing her production efforts on the Modos series, she has returned to documentary television as producer of the reality program House of Bouge.
Ms. Araujo has also expanded into nonfiction writing. She is the author of Over the Rainbow: Open Diary of a Black Girl, in which she tells the story of the experiences that helped shape her identity.
